Article Processing Charges (APC)

The Journal of ISAKOS (JISAKOS) is an open access journal with no submission or subscription charges. This means that authors who publish in JISAKOS can make their work immediately, permanently, and freely accessible worldwide.

JISAKOS authors will pay an article publishing charge (APC), have a choice of license options, and retain copyright to their published work. The APC for the Journal of ISAKOS is $1,500 for full-length articles and $750 for shorter articles, such as case reports. Members of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine receive a special 20% author discount.

Research4Life Article Publishing Charge waiver & discount options
Elsevier automatically applies Article Publishing Charge waivers or discounts to those articles in gold open access journals like the Journal of ISAKOS, for which all authors are based in a country eligible for the Research4Life program. Find out if you are eligible for institutional funding
A number of institutions have open access agreements with Elsevier which can either cover the whole cost of open access publishing for authors at participating institutions or can allow authors to receive a discount off the APC.

ISAKOS is committed to providing members with opportunities and resources to enhance their professional skills and global experience. Explore ISAKOS membership benefits today.

ISAKOS members who are authors on a paper that is accepted for publication, are awarded a 20% savings on the open access publication charge. Please note your membership status on the rights and access form once your paper is accepted.

In addition, members who serve on ISAKOS committess may receive an invitation from the Committee Chair or the Editor in Chief to publish in JISAKOS for free, with a special code. Consider volunteering for service on an ISAKOS committee.
