Sausage, Shrimp & Quinoa Skillet
We swapped rice for protein- and fiber-rich quinoa in this faux dirty rice, but any cooked whole grain would work well; give bulgur or farro a try to change things up.

This was a solid recipe. I made it as directed except used regular quinoa which I cooked separately and then added at the end. The dish was a bit bland but I found serving it with soy sauce really worked well. I'll make again.
Made exactly as written, but with fresh quinoa. I will not make again because I found it to be dry & in need of more seasoning. Sorry🙁
I couldn't find the chicken sausage so substituted hot pork sausage. My husband isn't crazy about quinoa, but he went back for seconds. Perfect for busy families without much time.
Quinoa is a hard sell in my house, so take this review with that in mind. I made my own quinoa vs. the frozen and chopped my own veggies, adding minced garlic. Not bad, nothing outstanding. Kind of on the dry side. I'd double the seasoning next time.
Really tasty and EASY. I used chicken and turkey andouille sausage. The frozen quinoa mad it a snap. We will make this again.
I used Italian sausage and cooked the quinoa in chicken broth. Also added a little Emeril's Essence in addition to Creole seasoning. We loved it and will definitely make it again soon!
I made this for my family and everyone loved it! It was so delicious and easy. I used both chicken andouille sausage and ground hot sausage along with the shrimp. I will definitely be making this again!
This is packed full of flavor. I made two substitutions. Cooked the quinoa from scratch using chicken broth and used sliced chicken andouille sausage. Added a salad and sourdough bread and this was a delicious dinner.
